Examples of our work

…got a £250k tax refund

On the 11th June 2018 we made a Research and Development tax claim for a client. On the 16th July 2018, after HMRC had completed their checks, the client received a £230k
tax refund. We identified that our client was undertaking qualifying research and development projects so, our experts assisted them to establish how much they were entitled
to in tax relief. By computing the amount spent on their works, we were able to swiftly put together and submit the claim.
“Cottons London helped us to achieve a £230k tax credit using the Research and Development scheme. Their understanding of taxation is incredibly useful.”
Magdalena Wojcik– Aesthetic Integration Limited

…made life easier for a retailer

After being approached by a start-up retailer, we were able to work with the new business to ensure that their accounting solutions were efficient from the get-go, allowing
them to focus on making a success of the business. By employing our knowledge of point of sale and accounting software, we were able to construct a smart system which
met this client’s needs. We implemented this record keeping system quickly enabling us to then focus on business planning and cash flow in line with their long-term plans.
“As a start-up retailer, we can’t thank the guys at Cottons London enough for their expertise in support. Now we use Xero we can see our finances live.”

Ollie Warne A.C.A

It’s true you are more likely to see our accountants sporting a pair of New Balances than a pair of Brogues, and it is this style with substance that is surely
earning Cottons London the reputation of one of the coolest accountancy practices in the capital but where has this come from?

Following his upbringing in the Midlands and training in Manchester, Ollie moved to London, now regarding East London as his spiritual home. After
spending time working at various firms with some brilliant brands and bands alike (counting ASOS, Rekorderlig and even The Courteeners on his C.V!)
he made the move to open this Southern branch of Cottons and use these experiences to drive its areas of focus.

Seven Wonders – Fleetwood Mac
This song was chosen by Jen Welford, MD at Antelope, a Creative Communications Agency and one of the first to sign up as client of Cottons London. Jen chose this song as she says that visualisation helps her with her business goals. Whether that is something you can relate to or not is up to you but I think we can all agree, this is a great song!
