It isn’t just teachers and pupils that went back to school this autumn as James Melvin and James Warwick have both been attending careers events in Rugby recently.
First off, James M spoke with 9 classes of pupils in Year 11 at Avon Valley School, describing the route that he has taken to becoming a Manager at Cottons as well as outlining alternative routes into the profession, such as apprenticeships.
The following week James M was back at his old school, Lawrence Sheriff, where he was joined by James W for a careers fair. The event was open to pupils in Years 10 through to 13 and James W was able to talk about his experiences as a Graduate Trainee and the exams that he has taken to become a Part-Qualified Chartered Accountant. The pupils were keen to learn more about what skills and qualifications are required to progress in a career in accountancy.
Cottons offer accredited training opportunities for school-leavers and graduates looking to work towards the AAT and ACA qualifications. For further information see the careers section of our website.
