It is with great pride that today we can reveal that Emma Reid, former senior accountant at our Rugby branch, has accepted a promotion to become a Partner at our firm.
Career and Life
Having been brought up in Rugby, Emma has a keen interest in the town, and has witnessed the economic and social growth in the town and its surrounding areas. Emma takes pride in actively supporting the local business community as part of Cottons Chartered Accountants.
Emma studied at Rugby High Grammar School for Girls where she completed her GCSEs and A-Levels, before heading to the University of East Anglia in Norwich to study Accountancy with Law Bsc. After achieving her degree in August 2004, Emma immediately joined the Daventry branch of Cottons as a Graduate Trainee Chartered Accountant; she then became ACA qualified at the end of 2007.
Following the opening of Cottons Rugby office in 2008, Emma gradually transitioned her role to become part of the team in her home town . She now provides accounting, taxation and business support to her own portfolio of clients consisting of SME’s across a wide range of industries. Emma’s knowledgeable approach and supportive nature have been key to her success and the rapport she has with her clients.
Outside of work Emma has her own lovely family with her husband Dave and their two-year-old daughter Olivia.
Emma has said,
“I am delighted to be continuing my career with Cottons and taking on the role of Partner. We have a great team at Cottons and it is a really exciting time to be playing my part at Partner level. I am looking forward to continuing to enjoy my existing relationships with clients and to be able to grow new ones over the coming months and years.”
Mark Palmer, who opened the Rugby branch and has worked with Emma over the years has also commented,
“Emma has deservedly been promoted to partner, we have worked closely together for 14 years and I have seen first-hand her development from her start as a graduate trainee to her current role as trusted advisor to her clients and colleagues.”
It is a proud moment for everyone involved. Well done to Emma, we are delighted to have you as part of our firm.
Working at Cottons
It seems like only yesterday when we announced that Will Smart, who began his career with us, had made Partner at the firm, so now to welcome another of our longest standing team members to Partner level gives us great satisfaction.
At Cottons the support and development of our team members is paramount to us. We believe that the best training and assistance with progression is good not only for our firm and its staff but for our clients too as they enjoy a consistent level of service with long standing friendly and trusted consultants.
