Corporate Finance

We are looking for personnel to join our Corporate Finance team and all levels will be considered. At the Senior level this position will probably be best suited to an ACA qualified with perhaps some auditing background who wishes to pursue a career in the Corporate Finance sector.

We are also looking for a Trainee to take the ACA qualification route with a view to a possible career within Corporate Finance on qualification. The training offered within the office would be tailored to suit that ambition.

Tax Advisory Assistant

An exciting opportunity for an individual already working in tax to join our growing firm of chartered accountants, assisting in providing tax planning and advisory services across personal and corporate tax.

The practice has a substantial and growing client base of sole traders, partnerships, OMB Ltd companies and larger businesses, directors and HNWI’s.


You will play an important role working closely with the Tax Manager, assisting in delivering a wide range of planning and tax advisory projects.  You will provide tax support across the practice in developing areas of tax and will support our tax compliance staff where necessary.  The role will predominantly be advisory or ad hoc queries though there may be some element of general compliance work.

Some experience of undertaking tax advisory work would be preferable.

IT Support Technician Apprentice


The IT Support Technician will assist in maintaining and supporting all IT-systems, hardware, user applications, telephone infrastructure and external services provided to Cottons Accountants users. You will be joining the IT manager in the day to day upkeep of the company’s IT infrastructure, dealing with staff and clients directly via email, phone and/or in person. While also having a great opportunity to learn the basics for an IT focused carrier.

We are looking for someone with working knowledge/experience or interest in Microsoft Desktop and Servers OS’s. With an interest in the mechanics of computing and databases. This is the perfect role for anyone wanting to start a career in IT.

Bookkeeper – Daventry


Assisting with the review of accounts within our Residential property service charge team.

May also include?

  • Liaise with client to obtain relevant information for preparation of computerised bookkeeping records
  • Desktop and cloud based computerised bookkeeping and ledger maintenance
  • Prepare client VAT returns based on information supplied by client
  • Ensure compliance with all VAT matters
  • Assist clients with accounting software and other book-keeping queries as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a freelance or practice environment
  • Fully computer literate, including excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Understanding of in house systems such as Sage, Xero accounts systems.
  • Excellent telephone manner with good interpersonal and communication skills
